-          Extension work:*
-          Set up a shop with your toys. Make some pretend money and play shop. If you have some real coins you could use them too. 1c,2c,5c,10c,20c,50c and €1.

-          DEAR Time, 10 mins.
-          Spellings – List 1: Sentences (half your words). Remember to use a capital letter, correct spacing and full stop. Try to use some describing words (adjectives) to make your sentence more interesting

-          Go on a shape trail, draw the shapes you found or write the name of each shape and keep a tally of how many of each you find.

           We use Bua na Cainte for our Irish lessons.
-          Edco is making it possible for parents to download Bua na Cainte. However you will need a laptop and fast broadband as it is a huge file. If you can download it, the username is “trial” and the password is “trial”. Download it at www.edco.ie/bua.
-          You will choose Bua na Cainte 1
-          You will see a list of themes; select An Teilifís (The Television) and select Ceacht 1. Choose the speech bubble to access the lesson. Once you have loaded the lesson for your child, he/she should be able to navigate their way through the lesson, games and songs as we use Bua na Cainte almost every day in school.

-          We have have been learning about animals! Begin a mini project based  on a nocturnal animal of your choice. Draw a picture and write down some facts you know or have learned about an animal of your choice

History

-          Read  and discuss the poem “Before T.V.”
-          Complete the interactive games

-          Practice your animal drawing skills at:
-          Choose an animal or a few if you like to draw (You don’t need to print these, just get some paper to draw on)
-          You could extend your picture if you like by drawing trees and plants to create a jungle

-          Find a space to do some activities , for example 10 jumping jacks, 10 squats, 10lunges, 10 knee highs, 10 heel flicks, 10 twists (repeat x5 with a break in between each session

-          Go for a walk / cycle / scoot

W.A.L.T. : Use research skills to make an interesting project about a nocturnal animal of your choice.
