Monday
|
•
10
minutes DEAR time (Drop Everything and Read) – any book of your choice
•
Use
rainbow writing to practice these words on a blank page or in a copybook.
Rainbow writing is a fun way to use repetition to
help practice spelling words. It's a simple process where you use multiple
colours of pencil, marker or crayon to create a fun rainbow effect when you write. See an example here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAVniLUkI4c
•
Parents/
Guardians: choose one of the 'ow' words and put it into a simple sentence.
Call out (dictate) this sentence and have your child write the sentence down
as accurately as possible. Look over the sentence together and point out 1
thing they did really well and 1 thing they could improve on next time e.g. spelling,
using capital letters, full stops, spacing etc.

Problem
of the day:
How many legs are there on 4 dogs? (Remember if you draw a picture to help you when doing a maths
problem, the picture doesn’t have to be perfect or even good – in maths we
can draw a rough picture or a diagram – we only use it to help us find the
answer).
-
Tens
and Units work: Try some more tens and units. Remember,
when you swap ten units for a ten and then write your number the proper way
you are doing RENAMING.

Aloud – child to choose any book and read a small section aloud for someone
