-          Put each tricky word into a sentence
-          10 minutes DEAR time (book of your choice)
-          Problem of the day:
Look at this page showing some weighing scales that are balancing different objects. All the scales are balanced so both sides weigh the same. But some sides have more objects than others so see which things are heavy and which things are light.

Tens and Units work:
On this page the word regrouping is the same as renaming. Do these sums the same way as yesterday’s.

2.      2 aubergines weigh the same as 4 limes so how many aubergines would weigh the same as 8 limes?

If you have your own copy of Goldilocks at home read it with the help of an adult OR you can watch another version of the story here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOJ_A5tgBKM
Put these key words into alphabetical order: bear, asleep, porridge, spoon, cottage.

-          Problem of the day:
This is a tally chart. It shows peoples’ favourite parts of Christmas. The people are counted in fives – a line for each person (1, 2, 3, 4) and person 5 is counted by drawing a diagonal line across the first 4 lines. Answer some questions about the tally chart.

1.      How many people chose decorating the tree?
2.      How many people chose time with friends and family?
3.      Which activity is the most popular?
4.      How many people chose opening presents, playing in snow and Christmas food altogether?

-          Tens and Units work:
Work out this problem by doing a tens and units sum:
I went to the shop and bought crisps for 33c and an ice-cream for 57c. How much did I spend altogether?
(hint – this problem is asking you about how much money so your answer will have to be a money answer – that means you must write c for cent in your answer!)

Other Optional Activities for During the Week:
Geography
-          Last week, we were learning about ways we could care for our environment. This week, we are going to explore even more ways by learning how to save water.
Have a look at this video to see why it is important we all try to conserve (save) water.
List all the different activities you do throughout the day in which you use water. How can you reduce the amount of water you and your family use?
This week, I want you to write or draw three steps that you took to reduce the amount of water you have used in your house. Here are some helpful tips!

History
Create a timeline of yourself!
Ask a brother, sister or parent to help you find some photographs of you from when you were a baby to your age now. If you collected any personal artefacts (such as baby clothes, your first books, old toys) from last week’s task be sure to include these in your timeline too.
Look at the photographs and artefacts and talk about the differences you can see between them. Place the photographs and artefacts (or draw them) in the correct order from oldest to newest.
With the help of an adult, why not use a washing line as a way of displaying your personal timeline using some clothes pegs to hang up your photographs and artefacts in the correct order.

Science
-          Watch this time lapse video of a dandelion growing . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQ_QqtXoyQw
