Hi boys and girls. We hope you had a lovely weekend and enjoyed the sunshine. Here are the work suggestions for this week.
Ms Gallagher has the next video for us to watch for our renaming.
There is a clip from Bua na Cainte (our class Irish programme) you can listen to and a translation. We are looking at birthdays this week.
Try to get some English and Maths work done and then choose one more activity from the optional menu. Also remember to get an active break in too. Most of all enjoy your family time and don't forget to help with the chores.
Lots of good reading on https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/

Spellings -
-
Use
rainbow writing to practice these words on a blank page or in a copybook.
Rainbow writing is a fun way to use repetition to
help practice spelling words. It's a simple process where you use multiple
colors of pencil, marker or crayon to create a fun rainbow effect when you write.
Simply write the word once and then trace in as many different colours as you
can!
-
Parents/
Guardians: choose two of the 'or' words and put them into simple sentences.
Call out (dictate) these sentences and have your child write the sentences
down as accurately as possible. Look over the sentence together and point out
1 thing they did really well and 1 thing they could improve on next time e.g.spelling,
using capital letters, full stops, spacing etc.

•
10 minutes DEAR time (Drop Everything and Read) – any book of
your choice
•
Give a quick summary of your DEAR time to an adult at home (Remember
a summary is like a recap of what you read – tell them what happened in the
story!)
•
Handwriting practice: N M U J
•
Use pencils, markers, chalks outside, paints etc. to practice
your capital letter formations
•
Remember!
- J
Start
at the top and head down to the end, but at the bottom turn left and make a
bend. A bit like an umbrella handle, hold on tight, pen off, add a line
across the top – yes that's right!
-
M A
straight line down to start with again, then from the top draw a V with your
pen. From the point where your V ends just take a mo, move your pen straight
down to the bottom nice and slow.
-
N
Start at the top and go straight down, go back to the top and do a line to
the right, one more line back to the top, practice again and again until you
need to stop!
-
U
Uppercase 'U' is like the lowercase one. Start at the top, loop down and up.
This is fun!
